Măng Đen
Young Vietnamese treat Măng Đen as the Đà Lạt of 20 years ago — a 1,200 m pine-forest town that drew a million visitors in 2023 and sells out every holiday, yet still runs 60-70% empty midweek.

Why locals go
Măng Đen (Kon Tum highlands, now Quảng Ngãi province since the July 2025 merger) is what young Vietnamese call "Đà Lạt 2" — a 1,200 m pine-forest town that pulled a million visitors in 2023 and sells out its entire ~2,000-room stock every public holiday. They come for 15°C nights, dawn cloud-hunting and hotpot, not for a sight list — almost everything here is free, and the town's only ticketed attraction costs 20,000 VND. Best months are Oct–Jan for dry, cool air and the mai anh đào cherry blossoms of late Dec–Jan; the cloud season stretches Sep–Apr.
