Why locals go

This is the most domestic coastline in Vietnam: Phú Yên drew ~4 million visitors in 2024 and only ~30,000 of them were international — ~99% Vietnamese (provincial stats, early 2025). The fame runs on the 2015 film "Tôi thấy hoa vàng trên cỏ xanh" ("Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass") and the "Đi Phú Yên đi" campaign, and locals sell the two provinces as one coastal loop — fly into Quy Nhơn or Tuy Hòa and drive both. What Vietnamese travelers do that tourists miss: eat the 10,000 VND breakfast noodles before 8 am, hit the sights on weekday mornings, and treat the whole corridor as one 3–4 day run.
